The Department of Psychiatry’s 14th Annual Research Extravaganza

The Department of Psychiatry’s highly anticipated 14th Annual Research Forum Extravaganza was held on October 11th, 2023, a yearly tradition to showcase the exciting psychiatric research taking place in the department. The forum included three faculty blitz data presentations by Graziano Pinna, PhD, Olu Ajilore, MD, PhD, and Colleen Stiles-Shields, PhD, who delivered concise and impactful overviews of their groundbreaking research spanning neural networks to digital mental health. We were also honored to host the Keynote Speaker, David Goldman, MD, Clinical Director of the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), who spoke about multiomic approaches to Alcohol Use Disorder. The highlight of the event was the impressive array of 90 scientific posters demonstrating the diverse and innovative work of both trainees and faculty in the department. We congratulate the poster competition winners, including Greeshma Job (Clinical Psychology PhD Student), Elizabeth Wenzel (Behavioral Neuroscience PhD student), and Emir Malovic (Postdoctoral Fellow). The event served as a vibrant platform for the exchange of ideas and collaboration in the department. We look forward to the 15th Annual Extravaganza next fall!
