Behavioral Therapy for Pediatric Bipolar Disorder

Child and Family-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Pediatric Bipolar Disorder

Suicidality among youth with bipolar disorder (BD) is an extreme, but largely unaddressed, public health problem: up to 50% of youth with BD will make a suicide attempt by age 18. Yet despite these alarming rates, little is known about effective suicide prevention for pediatric BD. This is the first study to examine the suicidality response to psychosocial intervention in a randomized controlled trial of children and preadolescents with bipolar spectrum disorders.
